It was great to find a new challenge blog this week. Alter It Monthly will be posting monthly challenges with a new challenge each month. To take part all you need to do is post a link to your project when you make a comment.
This months challenge is an altered matchbox. I used my new butterfly stamp from Stamps Away and the butterfly quote is from the Artistic Stamper. I wanted the butterflies inside the matchbox to look like specimens and I coloured them with promarkers and added a bit of stickles. The quote is inked and painted with distress rock candy crackle paint. This is the first matchox I've altered I think I may do some more.........

How cool is this? Those butterflies are fabulous..you could make up a whole frame of them and they'd look prettier than the real thing! I love them.
I love this Amanda. Such a good idea to have your little specemins inside! I've not altered a amtchbox either - what a nice size for a project though .... mmmm ... thanks for sharing :)
oh Amanda, how beautiful. Those really are gorgeous butterflies, and what a fabulous idea about the matchbox.
Fab idea. Love your finished box. I am def. going to have a go....when I have finished the projects I have on the go at the mo.
Love it. The butterflies look great. More to come maybe! Sian's idea of a frame is good.
I have only one word - Gorgeous!!!
This is absolutely beautiful, Amanda - I love it!
Thank you so much for taking part x
this is so serene and pretty. i was going to say at first it was like a sampler that a lepidopterists would collect but that would mean dead butterflies.. and i think yours could fly off.. free.
Beautiful work and such a clever idea. I love your blog, you have such inspirational work.
Hi Amanda, thank you for joining in on our first challenge, this is so pretty, I like the idea of these butterflies being specimens within the matchbox, and the quote is perfect.
I just love butterflies and adore this
Thank you for joining in on our first month with the challenge Blog. I do love your matchbox. That is one of my favourite artistic Outpost quotes and it works so well on your box.
This is adorable, I love it! it reminds of an old Cure song I used to listen to.
Goregeous and what a lovely sentiment.
