Home Sweet Home

I have a bit of recycling to share today. This oval frame was a rather ugly shade of brown when I spotted it but I thought it had potential. The moulding was pretty and it looks so much better with it's new white look.

I used a couple of paper flowers that I bought last week at Alexandra Palace and added a couple made using my tattered floral die with felt and fabric. Taking the glass out meant I could string the banner across the frame and I love the blue of this Studio Calico paper set against the white.

Keep your eyes peeled for old frames that might not look very nice as they are but look a whole lot better once given a spray painted finish. It's also a good solution if you want to give a unifom look to a collection of mismatched frames and I think white frames give a modern look.

Let me know if you give a new lease of life to an unloved frame.

This is so pretty Amanda. I love the colours you've used.

I painted a large old ornate black frame that once had a weird canvas in [found in a loft] and which James accidentally tore! So I reckoned the frame was up for grabs after that! It's now clean, white and propped up in our bedroom with a new painting inside.

:-)

You know I love that paper a lot. Fab frame and you're right the moulding is lovely.
I actually have an ugly brown frame I'm looking at now on the dresser. I feel a paint session coming on lol.

Very cute Amanda. I have painted several photo frames that I bought from one of our local charity shops. *Ü* I just haven't added the photos yet! TFS and for the inspiration. So much to do...so little time. *Ü* LOL. ~Glen~

The blue and white and deep yellow makes for such a fresh and sunny composition! And you'll know I am already a sucker for white in any form ... :).

Thanks for stopping by my blog. It's nice to know there are fellow crafty people in Kent! You did a great job with the frame, it looks lovely painted white with the little banners across it.
